University of Michigan - An Overview

The University of Michigan, often referred as simply Michigan University is a public research university located in An Arbor, Michigan, United States. Founded in 1817, the university is the largest university in the state of Michigan. The Central Campus in Ann Arbor is in 40 acres. In total the university consists of 584 major buildings with an area of 784 acres holding enormous amount of academic, residential and research facilities. The university is an example of United States governments desire to spread universal education to its students and motivate state funded research programs that will enable U.S. to lead in the field of world supremacy one step further than other nations.

It is one of the foremost universities for research in USA. Its comprehensive graduate programme offers research base masters and doctoral offers in various fields like humanities, social science and STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). It also gives professional degreed in medicine, law, pharmacy, nursing, social work and dentistry. It has one of the largest alumni body consisting more than 50000. It’s biological station in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan is one of only 47 Biosphere Reserves in the United States which is in a area of 13000 acre.
